Product Description
Exceptionally decorative and richly detailed, this antique Sitzendorf bottle vase is a beautiful example of late 19th century German porcelain artistry from the celebrated Voight era.
Dating between circa 1884–1902, the vase features intricate reticulation throughout the body, entwined with delicately modelled encrusted floral vines that create remarkable depth, texture and movement across the surface. The hand-decorated floral cartouche to the centre is framed by softly coloured pastel scrollwork, while the applied blossoms and trailing foliage lend the piece an almost garden-like quality.
The elegant bottle form rises gracefully from the rounded base, with the reticulated openwork allowing light and shadow to move beautifully across the porcelain. Measuring approximately 24cm in height, the vase makes a striking cabinet or mantel display piece, particularly within romantic, Victorian or richly layered interiors.
The underside bears the blue crossed line hatch mark together with mould number 434, consistent with Sitzendorf production during the Voight period.

If this piece could talk...
It might recall a richly decorated Victorian parlour filled with flowers, lace curtains and afternoon light, where elaborate porcelain objects were treasured as symbols of refinement and taste. Placed upon a mantel, side table or cabinet, it would have added colour, delicacy and artistry to a carefully arranged interior.
Its decorative presence speaks to a time when the home was a reflection of gentility, where beautiful objects were chosen not only for display, but for the atmosphere they created. Even now, it retains that sense of Victorian elegance — ornate, graceful and quietly expressive.
