Product Description

Richly decorated and exceptionally elegant, this Royal Doulton cobalt blue vase features elaborate gilt scrollwork framing a beautifully painted floral cartouche signed by E. Wood (Edwin Wood), one of Royal Doulton’s highly regarded and extensively catalogued artists.

Dating between 1902 and 1922, the vase reflects the refined decorative style for which Royal Doulton became renowned during the early twentieth century. The deep cobalt ground, intricate gilding and finely detailed floral painting combine to create a piece with striking display presence and timeless appeal.

Standing approximately 17cm tall, it would make a beautiful addition to a collection of Royal Doulton, fine English ceramics or traditional decorative interiors.

Each piece in our collection carries the subtle marks of time, adding to its authenticity and charm. Any notable details are thoughtfully included in the description and imagery. Should you wish to see more, we are always happy to assist.

If This Piece Could Talk...

It might recall softly lit Edwardian drawing rooms, where gilded interiors, polished timber and fresh flowers reflected an era that valued beauty in even the smallest decorative details. Resting proudly upon a mantel or occasional table, its rich cobalt ground and shimmering gilt decoration would have caught the warm glow of evening light as guests gathered for conversation and music.

Carefully painted by Royal Doulton artist Edwin Wood, its floral cartouche still carries the romance and refinement of the early twentieth century today. More than a decorative vase, it remains a small reminder of the craftsmanship, elegance and artistry that defined the finest English interiors of its time.
