A handsome survivor from the Victorian fireside, this brass fireplace companion set retains the wonderful aged patina that gives antique hearth accessories so much character.
Dating to circa 1880–1910, the set comprises poker, tongs, shovel and brush, suspended from an elegant decorative brass stand. The tools show evidence of genuine use, including areas of blackening to the ends, while the brass has developed an attractive aged surface over time. Some bristles are missing from the brush, consistent with its age and original use.
The stand measures approximately 50 cm tall. Both practical and decorative, this is a wonderful piece for styling beside a traditional fireplace and an appealing addition to a Victorian or period interior.
