Product Description

This Yang Cheng porcelain bowl is a hand-painted example of mid-20th century Hong Kong export ware, dating from circa 1940–1960. Decorated with stylised carp swimming among floral motifs, the design reflects traditional Chinese symbolism, with carp representing perseverance, prosperity, and good fortune. Measuring approximately 5.5cm tall and 11cm wide, the bowl is finely potted in porcelain and finished with underglaze blue and overglaze enamel decoration.

Pieces of this period were produced for both domestic use and export, blending traditional imagery with accessible decorative appeal. The bowl shows minimal, age-related wear consistent with use and age. If you would like more information or additional images, please contact us prior to purchase.
