An especially appealing early Royal Doulton figure, Delicia HN1662 dates to 1935 and captures the elegance and colour of the Art Deco era in a beautifully hand-painted palette of soft pink, mauve and green.
Standing approximately 14 cm tall, Delicia is modelled in a sweeping period gown with bonnet and floral posy. The underside retains the early Royal Doulton backstamp together with the figure name Delicia, handwritten HN1662 number and “Potted by Doulton & Co” inscription — lovely details that add to the character of this early example.
There is a very small, fine superficial hairline to the glaze on the back of the hat. It appears confined to the outer glazed surface and does not detract from the presentation of the figurine. Please refer to the photographs for condition-images 6 and 7.
A lovely addition to a Royal Doulton collection and an attractive decorative figure for a cabinet, dressing table, bookshelf or bedroom.
