Product Description
A beautiful example of antique Czech Welz art glass, dating to around 1890 and displaying a warm palette of creamy lemon-yellow tones with delicate marbled veining throughout.
The elegant body is enriched with finely applied gilt and enamel decoration, forming scrolling motifs that complement the glass without overwhelming it. Soft golden streaks move through the yellow ground, creating a luminous quality that changes subtly with the light and highlights the artistry for which Welz glass is so admired.
Raised on a clear glass foot and standing approximately 22 cm in height, the vase features a graceful silhouette with a slender neck and gently rounded body, reflecting the decorative elegance of the late Victorian period.
The vase presents beautifully, with light wear to the underside of the base consistent with age and use. These subtle signs of time add to its authenticity and are reflected in the photographs provided.
Each piece in our collection carries the subtle marks of time, adding to its authenticity and charm. Any notable details are thoughtfully included in the description and imagery. Should you wish to see more, we are always happy to assist.
If This Piece Could Talk…
Perhaps it once stood upon a dressing table or beside a favourite chair, its warm golden tones catching the morning light as it filtered through lace curtains. A single bloom may have rested within, chosen not for grandeur but for simple beauty, bringing a touch of colour and elegance to everyday life. Through changing interiors and passing generations, it has remained much the same — quietly decorative, gently luminous, and admired for the warmth it brings to its surroundings. Today, it continues to reflect the artistry and refinement of another age, carrying with it a quiet sense of grace and timeless charm.
