Product Description
An exceptional and rare White Star Line 1st class coffee cup and saucer set in the elegant Wisteria pattern by Stonier & Co Ltd, Liverpool, dated 19 March 1912. The saucer measures 11cm in diameter and the cup stands 5.5cm high. This fine porcelain set, richly detailed with gold scrollwork and turquoise accents, bears the iconic White Star Line house flag — a red burgee with a white star and banner — symbolising one of history’s most legendary shipping lines.
Stonier & Co were exclusive china suppliers to the White Star Line, producing exquisite tableware used aboard famous ocean liners such as the RMS Titanic and Olympic. Pieces like this were reserved for first-class passengers, reflecting the height of Edwardian luxury and maritime prestige. A remarkable survivor from an era when elegance travelled the Atlantic.
If This Piece Could Talk it would whisper of elegant voyages across the Atlantic, where the clink of fine china echoed through grand dining rooms beneath crystal chandeliers. It once rested on linen-clad tables as stewards served the world’s elite aboard the great ships of the White Star Line. Its delicate gold and turquoise design still carries the quiet hum of luxury, nostalgia, and the untold stories of those who once sailed in style.
