Product Description
A beautiful expression of Victorian elegance, this exquisite Royal Worcester porcelain ewer captures the romance of a bygone era, with delicate hand-painted flowers, rich gilding and a wonderfully graceful classical form. Dating to 1888, it is a lovely example of the decorative artistry for which Royal Worcester became so celebrated.
Standing approximately 27cm tall, the ewer features a softly pinched spout, an elegant looping gilt handle with a classical mask detail, and a square pedestal base. Its creamy porcelain body is decorated with golden-yellow blossoms and autumnal foliage, while the finely gilded accents lend warmth and refinement. The piece bears the initials JH, although the decorator's identity has not been independently confirmed.
Beautiful displayed on a sitting room sideboard, mantelpiece or amongst treasured antique ceramics, this striking late Victorian ewer brings a touch of 19th-century English elegance to the modern home.

If This Piece Could Talk...
"I remember the gentle glow of lamplight upon polished mahogany, the rustle of silk gowns and the quiet elegance of a Victorian drawing room. My golden blossoms brought a little of the garden indoors, while my gilded handle caught the evening light."
"More than a century has passed since I first emerged from the Royal Worcester pottery, yet my flowers remain as lovely as ever. I have witnessed changing fashions and passing generations, and still I wait to bring a little beauty to another home."
