Product Description
A natural form rendered with quiet precision. This pair of Canada geese by Canadian master carver Roger Desjardins, dating to circa 1980–1990, are cast from original carvings and hand-finished to capture the distinctive character of the species.
The Canada goose is recognised by its black head and neck with a contrasting white chinstrap, a defining feature carefully observed here. The bodies are modelled with layered feather detail, transitioning from soft grey tones to deeper brown plumage, reflecting the natural variation seen in the bird. The two figures are presented in complementary poses, one upright and alert, the other resting, creating a balanced and lifelike composition.
Measuring approximately 16cm and 12cm in length, the pair present well with condition consistent with age. A considered example of wildlife carving, valued for both craftsmanship and naturalistic detail.
We endeavour to provide accurate information on all items; however, as these are antique and vintage pieces, variations and signs of age are to be expected and form part of their character. Please contact us if you would like further details or additional photos prior to purchase.
