A striking pair of rare 19th century English Majolica candlesticks, modelled in a classical Doric column form and finished in rich honey, amber and olive green glazes that beautifully highlight their fluted design.
Dating to the late nineteenth century, these handsome candlesticks display the bold architectural modelling and vibrant glaze effects for which English Majolica is admired. Their column form gives them a strong decorative presence, making them well suited to a mantelpiece, dining table, library or collected interior.
Each candlestick measures approximately 18.5cm tall. One candlestick has a small chip to the edge of the base, as shown in the photographs.
