A charming finishing touch for a beautifully laid table, this mid-century French set of eleven apple-shaped place card holders combines polished silver plate with warm gold-tone stems and leaves.
Dating to circa 1950s–1960s, each little apple is made from solid brass with a silver-plated finish and measures approximately 3cm tall. The contrasting gold-tone stem and textured leaf give the set a particularly attractive two-tone appearance.
The holders are accompanied by unused place cards and are ready to bring out for dinner parties, celebrations or festive tables. When not in use, their sculptural apple form also makes them an appealing little collection to display.
There is some minor age-related wear to the finish, consistent with their age and use.
