Product Description
A beautifully decorative antique Czech Welz art glass vase, dating to circa 1890, showcasing a rich palette of warm yellow tones with subtle marbled veining throughout. The body features a soft, creamy lemon-yellow ground infused with deeper golden streaks, creating a delicate, organic flow within the glass. This is further enhanced by finely applied enamel and gilt decoration, forming elegant scrolling motifs that add both contrast and refinement. The warm gold detailing sits harmoniously against the yellow ground, giving the piece a luminous, almost glowing quality when viewed in natural light. The vase is raised on a clear glass foot, providing a graceful visual balance and allowing the coloured body to stand out prominently. Measuring approximately 22cm in height, it has a slender, elegant form with a gently flared neck, typical of late 19th-century decorative glass. A charming and collectible example of Czech art glass, valued for its colour, craftsmanship, and decorative appeal.
The vase is in good antique condition. General wear and scuff marks to the underside of the base consistent with age and use.
If This Could Talk
It would remember soft afternoon light falling across a quiet room, its golden tones catching the glow as the day slipped gently into evening. Perhaps it once stood upon a polished mantel or a lace-covered table, holding a small arrangement of fresh flowers gathered from a garden beyond the window. It would have been admired not loudly, but often — a piece chosen for its warmth and quiet beauty. Through changing interiors and passing years, it has remained the same, carrying with it a sense of calm, light, and understated elegance.
