Product Description
This charming Charlotte Rhead for Bursley Ware dish features the desirable Hydrangea pattern, beautifully executed in vibrant tube-lined detail. Made in England and dating to the circa 1950s, this softly scalloped dish with integrated handle measures approximately 25cm x 24cm. The floral decoration showcases pink, blue and violet hydrangea blooms with raised slip outlining, a hallmark of Rhead’s decorative style. Charlotte Rhead was one of the most celebrated designers of British Art Deco and mid-century ceramics, known for her bold florals and distinctive tube-lining technique. The Hydrangea pattern is less commonly found on this handled shape, adding to its appeal for collectors. Crafted in glazed earthenware, the piece displays minor age-related wear consistent with its vintage condition.
A decorative and collectible example of English studio-inspired pottery from the mid-20th century.
