Dating from the 1930s–1950s, this elegant Art Deco graduated necklace is handcrafted from natural bovine bone and beautifully reflects the understated style of the period.
Measuring approximately 60 cm in length, the necklace features polished graduated beads ranging from approximately 12 mm down to 5 mm. At the centre is a substantial barrel-shaped feature bead measuring approximately 23 mm long x 20 mm deep, flanked by two further feature beads, each measuring approximately 20 mm long x 18 mm deep. The natural variations in colour and grain give each bead its own individual character. The necklace is finished with a metal screw-barrel clasp.
A distinctive piece that can be worn with both vintage and contemporary wardrobes, and a wonderful gift for someone who appreciates Art Deco jewellery and unusual natural materials.
