Wedgwood

A British pottery company, Wedgwood is best known for its Jasperware, a style that Josiah Wedgwood developed in 1774. Jasperware ceramics are designed to imitate cameo glass which generally has white figures or motifs on a solid coloured background.

The most popular colour of Wedgwood Jasperware is the light blue known as “Wedgwood Blue,” although there are a spectrum of colours seen in Jasperware. Collectors seek antique Wedgwood pottery such as:

- Vases

- Teapots and Teacups

- Bowls

- Trinket Boxes, and More

Other Wedgwood products include black basalt, bone china, and transferware. All make for striking ornamental or even functional pieces in a home.
